Syndicate Update:

We presented a donation of €1,000 to Down Syndrome Galway over the past few weeks from our proceeds of our Syndicate for 2022-2023. The group are based in Claregalway and do great work in the locality and the wider county. Thanks to them for the great support they give so many families.

Thanks to all of our ticket sellers and members of the syndicate!

We are almost halfway through the term of the syndicate and so far winnings haven’t been significant however there are still six tickets and over 6 month worth of draws to play.

You will find full ticket and winnings details on www.claregalwaygaa.net.

Club Development:

Work has been completed to complete the coverings over the stands at the Credit Union and Monaghans pitch. All three pitches now have covered stands for spectators and covered dugouts! Thanks to all the people that have been involved in getting this work completed over the past while!

A new player gym has been completed over the past few weeks and thanks to all who have spent their time working on this. We hope it will benefit all of our Senior Mens and Ladies teams over the coming years!

It is hoped that work can begin on a fourth pitch in Knockdoemore in the coming month or so. This grass pitch will be situation on the far end of the site where the ESB poles have been moved from over the Winter. This area will not be available for a number of months while the work is being down and while the new grass is growing. A busy few months ahead!

Club Membership:

Membership for 2023 is now due. Rates remain as they were for the past number of years. Thanks to those of you that have registered already for this year.

The income from membership goes towards paying for team registrations, player injury funds payments, player registrations with the GAA and LGFA, debt repayments on our Knockdoemore facilities and a whole host of ongoing expenses for the club.

A number of teams have already returned to training and the remainder of our younger teams will be back training in March and April. Please note that GAA rules require all players be registered before return to on field activities.

Installment plans are available for certain membership types and if you are in difficulty with payments please contact one of our committee noted on the membership page.

Gear for Uganda:

Paul McCarthy has spent the last number of months coordinating a shipment of secondhand Hurling and Football gear for use by schools in Uganda. Paul has collected numerous items of clothing, hurls, sliotars, helmets and footballs from local clubs and they have been sent out to Uganda. Thanks to all that have made donations and well done Paul for the great work in coordinating this!
