At the recently held Carnmore Hurling AGM former Athenry player Pat Higgins was
selected as the manager for the senior hurling team.
Out going chairman Johnny Duggan expressed the club’s appreciation for all those who
helped in any way especially his fellow officers Danny Potter Secretary, and Mary
Davoran Treasurer. He also thanks the club’s main sponsor Noel Grealish, The Glass
Centre, Sean Dunleavy who sponsored the annual golf fundraiser and Pat Grealish who
sponsored the bowling night and the lotto committee in conjunction with Claregalway
Football Club who run the weekly lotto.
During the year some improvements were made to the hurling pitches and this was
achieved by Johnny Greaney and the members of the FAS scheme.
The officers and managers of Claregalway football club were thanked for their cooperation
during the year as was the juvenile club for their work training and
preparing teams during the year. Lastly the to all the mangers and selectors of the
various teams and the ongoing support of Dr. Day.
Congratulations was extended to Malachy Hanley on his new appointed as Assistant
Treasurer with the Hurling Board.
The club’s officers for 2006 are Michael Grealish chairman, Seoirse Morris treasurer,
Martin Leonard secretary, Michael Fox assistant secretary, Noel Fox assistant treasurer,
Danny Potter registrar, Pat McCarten hurling board delegate and Sheila Fox as PRO.
