Claregalway U-21 footballers had a comfortable win over Annaghdown in their first North Board A Championship match of 2011 played at sunny Annaghdown on Sunday Feb. 13th. The score was 1-11 to 0-5. This was a good all-round team display in a free flowing game and Claregalway always looked likely winners from start to finish. A feature of the game was to see all 15 team players working so well to help one another and combining to get the scores – all six forwards scored. Claregalway led at half-time by 0-6 to 0-2. When Annaghdown pressed hard early in the second half to cut the Claregalway lead, goalie Eoin Clarke saved a pile driver at close range to divert the out for a 45′.
