After receiving a w/o the previous weekend the the U16 Girls began their league campaign in Belclare on Sunday last. Corofin started the stronger and took an early lead. The Claregalway girls settled as the half progressed and two late goals saw Claregalway lead 3–6 to 1–4 at half time. A young Corofin team continued to make it a competitive game to the end but a late flurry of Claregalway scores saw them win well. Claregalway travel to Clonmel on Sunday next to take part in a Tournament hosted by Clonmel Commercials.
