U12 Gold played away to Craughwell on Saturday morning in their final league group game. The girls as always fought hard and were trailing by just 2 points at the break. Despite a trojan effort from the Claregalway Girls, Craughwell were the strongest team on the day. The U12 Greens played away to Salthill on Sunday Evening. This was a very tight game from throw in with scores hard to find. It was Claregalway who recorded the first score with an excellent point from play. The first half finished with Claregalway ahead 0–6 to 0–2. The second half began with the same intensity with the Claregalway defenders denying Salthill many scoring opportunities. A goal from Claregalway increased their lead but Salthill continued to fight back with a number of points from frees and a late goal. The game finished 1–7 each. Claregalway Green play Corofin Emeralds in the next round. This game is fixed for Monday 7th May at 7pm in Knockdoe. Training continues on Saturday at 5.15pm. U14 Gold Team travelled to Clifden on Sunday and played Grainne Mhaols in the Div 4 league. Claregalway played against a strong wind in the opening half and played some great football to lead at halftime by 4–3 to 0–3. Claregalway dominated the second half and won well.

The Green Team were at home to Salthill/Knocknacarra on Monday and recorded a comfortable win.

Next Monday the Green Team are at home to Killanin in Knockdoemore at 6:30pm and Gold Team at home to Clonbur 5pm. Training Wednesday at 6:30pm and good luck to Galway U14 against Sligo on Saturday.


Junior Ladies had a home league game against Ballinasloe on Sunday last. Playing with a strong wind in first half Claregalway missed some scoring opportunities and enter the break two points down, greater composure and determination  in the second period wasn’t enough to secure victory, final score Ballinasloe 1–8 to Claregalway 2–3.
