Senior ladies Training on Saturday in Claregalway at 11am. Claregalway play Corofin on Sunday in Division 1 league and Salthill\Knocknacara in Division 4 League this weekend. Hard Luck to our Girls who played for Calasanctius College, Oranmore in their All-Ireland Junior Camoige Schools Final last weekend. Best wishes to all our players playing for Presentation School Athenry in their All-Ireland semifinal in Birr on Wednesday 19th March.
Girls U10 and U12 Training starts back this Saturday 22nd in Knockdoemore at 5pm. Now that the weather has improved we look forward to seeing all Girls return for the New Season. U14 and U16 training continues on Mondays at 7pm in Lakeview and Saturdays at 5:30pm in Knockdoemore. New players always welcome.
Claregalway Ladies Gaelic Football club are delighted to announce details of an exciting new programme called Gaelic4Girls that is commencing next Saturday 22nd March. Gaelic4Girls is initially an 8 week programme aimed at increasing participation in Ladies Gaelic Football. The programme targets girls aged between 8–12 years who are not currently registered with a Ladies Gaelic Football Club.
Gaelic4Girls is focused on fun and participation, allowing girls to get an introduction to Ladies Gaelic Football in a non-competitive environment. It will be held in Knockdoemore every Saturday from 4pm, commencing on the 22nd March. On completion of the programme, participants are presented with certificates and t-shirts for their participation. Following the 8 weeks, the girls will be encouraged to register with our Ladies Football club, and those that do will be integrated into the existing teams. A Mini Blitz will also be held with another Gaelic4Girls site after the 8 weeks and this is a major highlight of the programme.
This is the first Gaelic4Girls programme to be held in the area and all girls from Claregalway–Turloughmore and the surrounding areas are encouraged to attend and learn the basic skills of Ladies Gaelic Football.
