Kanchi, a not for profit disability organisation have recently launched ‘ Kanchi 500’ coinciding with UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

‘Kanchi 500’ is a national awareness campaign which will take place from 2nd–6th December 2013 providing 500 people across Ireland with disability awareness training, free of charge. Kanchi have partnered with Medtronic, Dell, Pepsico & Cavan County Council to deliver this training countrywide.

The theme of this year’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities is ‘Breaking down Barriers’. Kanchi often find that stigma and lack of confidence in discussing disability are the biggest barriers to inclusion. Through this training Kanchi’s aim is to remove that fear of ‘causing offence’ or ‘saying the wrong thing’ that prevents many of us from talking about disability.

Who can attend?

This training is open to all members of the public, representatives from local businesses & People Managers in Medtronic.

Where and when will the training take place?

Training sessions last 1.5 hours and will take place in Medtronic’s Customer Innovation Centre on Friday December 6th.

How do I sign up?
