Claregalway Ladies captured the Connaught Intermediate title with a victory over Tourlestrane in Ballyhaunis on Saturday last 26th of October. Claregalway were aided by a stiff breeze in the opening half and ran up a big halftime lead of 1–12 to nil. Michelle Dunleavey was in fine scoring form from frees and Charolette Cooney scored the goal. Claregalway continued to dominate the second half and ran out winners on a score of 1–22 to 0–5. Afterwards the Cup was presented to captain Fabienne Cooney with full forward Deirdre Brennan picking up the player of the Game award. This is a second Connaught Title for the Claregalway Ladies having won the Junior in 2011. Claregalway will play Cork and Munster champions in the All-Ireland semi at a Galway venue on Sunday 17th of November.
