Preparations and plans are well underway by Claregalway Agricultural Show Committee for their forthcoming Agricultural show. The Show Queen has already been selected and the title for 1999 goes to Deirdre Conneely from Carnmore. The committee is delighted to have Deirdre as their Show Queen and they hope she enjoys her year. This will be the ninth annual show, and it will take place on Sunday, the 22nd of August, in Duffy’s Claregalway Equestrian Centre, Rockwood, Claregalway. The show committee is once again indebted to the Duffy Family for the use of their grounds for the show. It has proved an excellent venue for the show every year.

There will be over 200 classes this year, consisting of Horses, Ponies, Donkeys, Cattle, Sheep, Goats, Dogs, Pets, Home Baking, Crafts, Farm Produce, Photography, Flowers, Art, Jam, Eggs and several classes for children. Entries will be accepted on the day as in previous years.

Claregalway Show Committee is deeply grateful to all its Sponsors, who support them every year. The committee wishes to convey its thanks also the Exhibitors. Without exhibitors, there would be no show. Claregalway Show is a day out for all the family. Again the very popular threshing machine will be working away for all to see. The Obstacle Course for dogs which was introduced to the show two years ago has proved to be a great success, and the Donkey Derby is a major attraction. Other competitions taking place throughout the day are the Bonny Baby, Junior Miss, Junior Mister, Best Dressed Lady and Glamorous Granny. Schedules and Entry Forms are available from the secretary,

Carmel Casserly, Kiniska, Claregalway, Co. Galway. (091) 798249.
