The following additions are confirmed for The Garden Party at The Organic Centre on Sunday 15th July from 11am -5pm:

  1. We will have small farm animals close up for our young visitors by “Farmyard in your Schoolyard” between 2 and 5pm.
  2. Traditional music by local musicians 2-4pm.
  3. Selected stalls with flowers, herbs, crafts and tools throughout the day.

The Organic Centre Garden Party

Sunday 15th July from 11am -5pm

At The Organic Centre, Rossinver, Co. Leitrim

Featuring a cooking demonstration by Neven Maguire from McNean House and Restaurant in Blacklion and a talk by Trevor Sargent the former Minister for Horticulture on his new book “Trevor’s Kitchen Garden”.

There will be guided walks, demonstrations and short workshops by staff, students and lecturers on all matters of organic gardening and growing, including a talk on “Grow your own Salad Bowl” by Hans Wieland, a session on “How to assess and improve your soil” by Ingrid Foley and a “Wild Herbs and Food” demo by Gaby Wieland.

Visitors can play the “Guess the Seed” game and the “Compost Game”. Children can enjoy playing in the willow domes or get their face painted.

Every year we try to showcase our learning gardens and polytunnels to the wider public and also invite back “Friends of The Organic Centre” to keep them up to date on developments here supported by their membership fee” says organiser Hans Wieland. “What started as a Garden Day has become more of a Garden Party for all the family to enjoy.”

The Grassroof café will be open with summer dishes. The Eco-shop offers seeds, plants, books, tools, sundries and other organic goodies.
