Rockmount Riding Centre is one of the oldest and largest riding centres in the west of Ireland. Established in 1972 by John and Treasa Moore, it is now operated by the couple’s son David and his wife Verran. Located just 6km from Galway city on the N17 close to Claregalway village, the facility caters for the complete beginner to the most advanced riders.

Fully qualified instructors hold riding lessons for children in the afternoons and on Saturdays, and adults are catered for in the evening. A large indoor arena means lessons in the winter can continue unil 9pm. A number of flexible payment options are available. Groups and social clubs are welcomed at extremely competitive rates. Children’s camps are held during the holiday periods. Summer camps are of five days duration and a camp for complete beginners is also available.

Rockmount also has a livery yard where clients have full use of all facilities including turnout paddocks, an indoor and outdoor arena, and a cross country course. Showjumping liveries, breaking services, and getting ponies/horses ready for sales or inspections are all services provided.
