Community organisations, business representatives, state agencies, rural and tourism interests and members of the public throughout Co. Galway have been invited to attend a one day conference in the Connemara Coast Hotel, Furbo on Thursday, June 4 to share their views and input into the County Galway Six Year Local Economic and Community Plan.

This one-day interactive conference is organised by Galway County Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) in association with Galway County Public Participation Network (PPN). The conference follows on from a very successful Vision and Goal Setting Workshop which was held in March and attended by representatives from over 80 agencies.

The conference will be opened by Minister for Rural Affairs Ann Phelan who will also address the conference on matters such as rural broadband and rural transport and outline how current and future government initiatives can assist local government and communities.

In addition to keynote speeches on how to stimulate regeneration in Galway’s towns and villages, there will be a range of short presentations in breakout sessions covering areas as diverse as health and wellbeing, environment and infrastructure, agriculture and education, enterprise and employment, culture and language, and harnessing our natural resources.
