The death occurred of Paddy Burke of Caraune, Kiniska last week. Paddy was at an advanced age and was well known and respected.  Paddy worked for many years with his brother Michael on the family farm before moving to Galway where he worked in the construction industry with Hession Building Contractors.

In later years Paddy became the leading maintenance person in taking care of their property and he earned huge respect as he was diligent with his work.  After his retirement Paddy enjoyed life and made good use of the free travel, frequently taking the train or the bus to visit places from Cork to Belfast that he was denied seeing during his working years.

Following on the death of his sister Nora some years ago, Paddy moved back to Caraune to live with his nephew Christy and his wife Marion.

In the past year illness forced him to move to Mystical Rose Nursing Home where his brother Michael was also a resident.

The remains of Paddy Burke were removed from Lackagh Mortuary Chapel to the Church of Our Lady of Knock, Lackagh.  Following Requiem Mass celebrated by Fr. Des Walsh Burial took place in Lackagh cemetery.

Paddy is survived by his brother Michael, nephews, nieces, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, grandnephews, grandnieces, great-grandnephews, great-grandnieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
