The Junior Ladies played St Marys in their opening league Game last Sunday week in Knockdoemore. Missing several players on the day the Girls battled bravely but were beaten by a strong St Marys outfit. Claregalway trailed 4-6 to 0-7 at half time and were unable to close the gap in the second half. The Senior team travelled to Caltra for their opening game also on last Sunday week. Fielding several players who had just played Junior Claregalway were against the wind in the opening half in which scores were hard got. Claregalway lead at the break by 2-1 to 1-1. The second half was much more open and the Claregalway girls scored some good points but the concession of 4 more goals kept the game close. At the final whistle Claregalway emerged winners on a score of 3-10 to 5-2.
