Saturday next (19th) marks our social highlight of the year, the Dinner Dance in the Claregalway Hotel. The Club is looking for a big turnout of members and followers and the proceeds will be used for the Club’s Development Fund, in particular for the on-going works at Knockdoemore. Proceedings commence with Dinner at 8.30pm and the speeches have been dropped from the formalities. The entertainment features special guest Don Stiffe and music by Silkwood. If you would like to reserve a table for your own ‘gang’, this can be arranged by telling the committee in advance. The team being honoured this year is our history-making Minor footballers of 1991 who won the Co. B League and Championship double. Registration Night will be held in the Clubhouse on Thursday February 24th. from 6 to 9pm. For insurance purposes, all senior, junior, underage, juvenile and ladies football players must be officially registered. All current players and members are requested to attend.
Survey: There is a survey up on our website www.claregalwaygaa.net inviting comments and ideas on various aspects of the Club. It would be good to get ideas from parents, member and players.
U21s had a comfortable win over Annahgdown in the North Board A Championship played in calm and sunny conditions at Annaghdown on Sunday last. The score was 1–11 to 0–5. It was an encouraging team display and goalie Eoin Clarke’s save from a one-on-one situation early in the second half deserves special mention.

Darby Greally RIP: We convey our deepest sympathies to Tom and Sean Newell, ex-Claregalway footballer and Carnmore hurler respectively, on the death of their uncle Darby Greally, Muinteach. Darby was a member of the Waterdale football team of yore and hurled with the Claregalway Juniors in the 1950s. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
