Best of luck to Captain Elle Glynn, Grace Cahill, Andrea Glynn and the Galway U16 panel when they take on Mayo in Davitts GAA Pitch on Wednesday evening 25th at 7:30pm in the next round of their championship. Good luck to Eva Gilmore, Laura King, Grace Cahill and Christina Hanley who play for the Galway U16 Camoige Team in their Championship next weekend. Also to another member of our U16 Team Emma Connolly who plays for Galway in the Gaynor Cup at the weekend in Limerick.

The Senior Ladies were defeated in Championship by Corofin 6–7 to 1–13 on Friday evening last in Corofin. Having to line out without several players due to injuries, Claregalway were 3–3 to 0–4 down at half time. The concession of two goals in the third quarter left too big of a gap and Corofin ran out deserved winners. The Junior Ladies were also defeated by St Marys on Sunday in the Junior B Championship. Claregalway, fielding a very young panel, suffered a heavy defeat by a more experienced St Marys outfit. Both Adult teams have a second chance to remain in the Championships in three weeks’ time when the Seniors play St Brendans and the Juniors play Ballinasloe.

Claregalway will be the host Club to Kilkenny City Ladies for this weekend’s Féile. Our visitors are due to arrive at the Club on Friday at 2pm where they will be treated to refreshments and meet their host families. Then later that day it’s off to Clonbern for the Group Games as follows:

  • 5:40pm
    Claregalway v Dunboyne
    St Brendans v Kilkenny City
  • 7pm
    Claregalway v St Brendans
    Dunboyne v Kilkenny City

On the Saturday Claregalway will play Kilkenny City at 11am at the Knockdoemore Pitches. Later that afternoon both Teams will travel again to Clonbern for either Cup or Shield quarterfinals. There will be a barbeque in the Clubhouse on Saturday evening. We wish all Host and visiting Teams involved in Féile 2014 have a very enjoyable weekend in the west of Ireland.

The U14 received a new set of Jerseys just in time for their Féile. We would like to thank Albert Conneally and Glenman Construction for the sponsorship.

Albert Conneally of Glenman Construction presents the new Set of Jerseys to Claregalway Ladies Secretary Michael Downes and U14 players Mave Moran, Katlyn Kearney and sisters Anna and Ellen Conneally.

Congrats to The Claregalway U12 Ladies on their County Division 1 League Final victory over Naoimhe Mhuire on Sunday evening in Monivea. A great second half in which Claregalway scored 2–5 sealed a three point win 2–5 to 1–5.
