Garry Fox Memorial Cup ‘friendly’ Adult 7-a-side Competition
at the Family Fun Day on 20th of September
The School Road took the spoils for the second time as they battled against stiff competition from the Monivea Road team, the Lydican team, the Carnmore Village team and the Claregalway/Cloon (N17) team. The final against the N17 was hard fought in the first half, but the school road dominated the second half and ran out easy winners.
Martina Fox presented the Cup to the winning captain, Ciaran Murray. Team members included brothers George and Barry Hanley & Darren and Ciaran Fahy, Aaron Fox, Shane Quinn and Manager Kegan Fox.
Carnmore v Ardrahan

Carnmore was the venue for the County Under 15 B1 semi-final between Carnmore and Ardrahan. The ball was thrown in by referee Ollie Flanagan, and with only a few seconds on the clock, Tomas Cogley got the first score of the game for Carnmore. Then, within a matter of minutes, Ardrahan got two points without reply. Carnmore got the next score with a goal by full forward, Tomas Cogley, giving Carnmore a two point lead 1–1 to 2 points. But Ardrahan soon cancelled with a goal of their own. Straight after, came another goal for Carnmore, scored by Conor Harte, making it 2–1 to 1–2. Carnmore edged further ahead with another point from Tomas Cogley. Ardrahan fought back with four points and edged into the lead 2–2 to 1–6. That would be the last score of the half for Ardrahan, as Carnmore scored the next three points and took a 2–5 to 1–6 lead at half time.
Carnmore started the second half the brighter, and with only two minutes gone, a point by Mikey Cullina was cancelled out by one for Ardrahan making it 2–6 to 1–7 in favour of Carnmore. That would be the end of Ardrahan’s scoring in the game, as Carnmore scored 3–5 without reply, with goals coming from Tomas Cogley and Conor Harte. It was all round a great team performance and Carnmore U15’s deserve their place in the county final with a final score line of Carnmore 5–11 to Ardrahan 1–7.

U11
The U11s will play their final game of 2014, this evening, Friday 10th of October at 6.15pm in Carnmore against Athenry.
U12
Wednesday last, 8th of October, saw the final training season of 2014 for Carnmore U12s. They had a successful season and as a result, will contest the U13(A) Championship in 2015.
Poker Night
Carnmore Hurling Club is running a Poker Night on Friday 31st of October in the Arches Hotel. Keep an eye on Carnmore.net and Facebook page Carnmore Squad, for further details.
U6s, 8s & 10s
U6s had their last training session of 2014, on Wednesday last, with presentation of certificates. Final match of the season for U6’s will be at 10am on Sunday in Oranmore.
U8s all enjoyed a trip away to Doora Bearfield last Saturday. Their last training session is yet to be announced.
U10s are having an end-of-season blitz tomorrow, Saturday 11th of October with teams visiting from Dublin, Limerick and
Clare.
