A Galway based stocktaking company is set to double its workforce by the end of the year as it expands its Irish operations. Headquartered in Claregalway, Stocktaking.ie employs four full time staff and an additional 90 part-time staff throughout Ireland.  The expansion plans will see the number of full time employees double to eight as the company increases its market share in the retail and the food and beverage industry.

Established in 2004, (currently in its tenth year of service), Stocktaking.ie provides a stocktaking service for the hospitality and retail sector and currently serves over 300 premises throughout Ireland.  This company will carry out in excess of 1000 stocktakes in 2013, an increase of 42% on last year.

Announcing the recruitment initiative, managing director Patrick McDermott said, “We have seen a huge increase in our business over the past year—partly driven by increased awareness in the food and beverage industry of the importance of accurate, detailed and informative stocktaking reports in improving profit margins.”

“Stocktaking.ie are a technology driven company and we have consistently sought out leading edge tools to help us improve delivery services, reduce costs to customers and put us ahead of the competition.” says McDermott who was awarded the SCCUL Entrepreneurship Award for Professional Services in 2012.

“I am pleased to say that three of the new positions—Connacht Area Manager, Food & Beverage Manager and IT Developer—will be based here in Galway and the remaining position will be based in Dublin as we require a manager to oversee operations in Leinster,” concluded McDermott.

In 2012 Stocktaking.ie became the first stocktaking company in Ireland to achieve the internationally recognised International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 9001–2008 quality management system certification.
