We are looking to set up a group to help organise the project in the Claregalway area.

Businesses

Have you got a business that delves into the world of gastronomy in the Claregalway area e.g food producer, food service, culinary field,  fine dining experiences or food studies and heritage? Support and take part in our events to promote yourself to the community.

Community

We are inviting you to submit recipes under different categories. Open to all nationalities living in the area, categories include:

my favourite recipe /  a family recipe / a local recipe / a traditional Irish dish / my national dish

We want you to submit old and modern pictures you may have or know about regarding gastronomy  (the art of cooking, as of a particular region) and everything to do with it.

We want your submit stories of your memories with gastronomy in everyday life e.g. growing up on a farm, cooking in the kitchen, setting the table for Sunday lunch, memories of market day

Competitions

We hope to produce a booklet of recipes and stories to remember this year in Baile Chláir. We look forward to a possible food festival event during the year. There will be friendly competition in which winning entries of each category will be showcased on the day of the festival.

Schools

We are looking for all local schools to take part and fill up our school’s project pages. This is being done in conjunction with other Historical Societies around County Galway and the Galway County Council Heritage Officer:
