Claregalway Ladies Gaelic Football panel and Management were honoured at a Civic reception in Galway County Council, Áras an Chontae, Prospect Hill, Galway on Monday evening 27th January hosted by Mayor Galway County, Cllr Liam Carroll and County Galway Manager, Martina Maloney in recognition of Claregalway Ladies in capturing the All-Ireland 2013 Intermediate Ladies Club Football Title.
On arrival at Áras an Chontae and after beautiful refreshments were consumed the Civic Reception was opened by County Secretary, Mr Michael Owens. The Mayor Galway County, Cllr Liam Carroll in his welcome address congratulated the Claregalway Ladies for their great achievements during the year in winning the All-Ireland 2013 Intermediate Ladies Club Football Title. It was a fantastic achievement to win the County and Province also. The Mayor Galway County, Cllr Liam Carroll also praised the management team and Club Officers in their support and also for their dedication in preparing this panel this year, and to the many people who have volunteered during the years within the club who helped the Girls in winning the All-Ireland Final. He remarked that as this Claregalway Ladies panel is very young he is confident there are many great years ahead.
Martina Maloney County Galway Manager congratulated the Claregalway Ladies and management team on their excellent results during the year. Martina Maloney, County Galway Manager stated that the Ladies great year was down to the commitment and dedication to training they were a credit to their club Claregalway GAA ,and Families and the Parents bringing the girls to training and matches was an important support also. She wished the Claregalway Ladies all the best in the future.
Martina Maloney County Galway Manager then invited the Claregalway Ladies Manager Martin Costello to be presented with a special commemorative plaque from Galway County Council in recognition of this special occasion.
Martin Costello Claregalway Ladies Manager, thanked the Mayor Galway County, Cllr Liam Carroll and Martina Maloney County Galway Manager Galway County Council for their invitation in honouring this great occasion for Claregalway Ladies Gaelic Football. He thanked all the girls for putting in the work during the year and they earned their successes. Martin also thanked the Team management and club officers who supported the Ladies Panel team during the year. He also thanked the Claregalway Hotel for their support and all who sponsored Claregalway Ladies Gaelic Football. He thanked all the local politicians who were in attendance and to the parents who brought the girls to training and supported them during the years.
After the many photos, the Civic reception ended all in attendance were delighted to be part of such a great evening and the recognition for the great year was appreciated. It was a fitting end to a great year for Claregalway Ladies Gaelic Football.
