Mark Rohan has had a busy summer representing his country in U16 European Basketball Competitions. Claregalway U11 Boy’s Basketball team won their first county title recently. In the tournament held in Salthill Claregalway played Barna first and won 28–4 with Robert Dooley and Peter Divilly highest scorers. Claregalway Juvenile Basketball Club hosted a girl’s U15 tournament. Five teams in all from around the county were able to attend. Each team played at least three games. On March the 12th, the Club organized a trip to Sligo to play matches against the All Star Club there. The club ran a 12 hour basketball marathon on 21st November last. This year’s event proved to be a great success. We had great support from the children who had no trouble organising themselves into teams and making sure that the marathon kept going through the day.
